The House Democrats now have the 218 votes they need to go forward with impeachment proceedings and those who vote no will be voting to defend President Trump’s egregious violations of the Constitution.

It’s been a historic couple of days in Washington and the news seems to keep getting worse and worse for President Donald Trump. In just the last hour, the New York Times revealed that the whistleblower that files the complaint is a CIA officer who was assigned to the White House and is familiar with foreign affairs, and specifically with Ukrainian politics.
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has the 218 votes she needs to proceed with impeachment and the future of the administration and the Republican Party does not look good. In fact, it would appear that many of Trump’s closest advisors could be caught up in the ensuing investigation and could guilty of criminal acts.
So why is New Jersey Democratic Congressman Jeff Van Drew (NJ-2) continuing to support President Trump, when most of his colleagues have fallen in line with their party? Seven freshman Democrats, with actual Intelligence or military experience, that are in vulnerable districts, wrote an OpEd in the Washington Post this weekend calling for impeachment, and yet Van Drew, who is not even being contested in a primary, has resisted calls to join in condemning the President and his administration.
It is not secret that Van Drew is a conservative Democrat and has often been ridiculed by the progressive wing of his own part, as a DINO, or a Democrat In Name Only. But this seems beyond the pale even for him.
